Development Specialist

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Development Specialist will be responsible for the identification, cultivation and solicitation of development related partnerships for the Central Carolinas Chapter. Development related partnerships include corporations, foundations, organizations, groups and individuals within the designated area to increase revenue opportunities and brand visibility in support of chapter and national programming.  This position reports to the Executive Director and is located in Charlotte, North Carolina.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward relationships with corporations, foundations, organizations and individuals to create revenue/development opportunities to support chapter and national families and programs.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that increase A Kid Again’s revenue in designated area, including fundraising events, grants, individual giving, and third-party partnerships. Annual revenue should meet or exceed annual goals developed by chapter Executive Director in order to grow and support program for designated region and chapter.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that increase A Kid Again’s visibility in designated area, including community events, workshops, appearances, and other communication opportunities.
  • Identify, cultivate and maintain relationships with hospitals, organizations and other providers that can serve as collaborative partners for mission.
  • Administrative duties – Work within database to record notes and progress on prospective program and development partners.

 

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred 3-5 years’ experience in non-profit fundraising/development.
  • Requires excellent communication, relationship building, time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of social media and other basic marketing platforms.
