Holiday Adventure Brings Joy to Michigan Families at The Henry Ford
On November 17, 2024, over 1,500 family members enrolled in A Kid Again Michigan gathered at The Henry Ford for a Holiday Adventure filled with magic, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Families stepped away from the challenges of life-threatening medical conditions to embrace a day of joy and celebration in the heart of Dearborn, Michigan.
The Holiday Adventure offered a full day of festive activities, including exploring the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation and Greenfield Village, pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, holiday gifts, and carousel rides. The event brought smiles to children and families alike, fostering moments of connection and respite during the holiday season.
Amy Vining, Executive Director of A Kid Again Michigan, reflected on the day’s impact, saying, “Every family deserves the joy of the holiday season, especially those facing complex medical journeys. Through our Holiday Adventure at The Henry Ford, we’re creating a day filled with magic, laughter, and memories for Michigan families. We’re grateful for our partners who make this day of joy and togetherness possible.”
This year’s Holiday Adventure was made possible through the support of A Kid Again Michigan’s Annual Partners, including Applied Innovation, Delta Dental of Michigan, Michigan’s Adventure, Detroit Pistons, The Henry Ford, Kearns Brothers, and LMCU, along with Adventure sponsors such as Lady Jane’s Haircuts for Men, Wicked Awesome Wishes, The Jackson Community Foundation, and more.
The Holiday Adventure capped off an incredible year for the Michigan chapter, which serves over 1,660 children and their families and will celebrate its third anniversary in December. A Kid Again’s mission to foster hope, happiness, and healing continues to grow across the state, providing consistent, cost-free Adventures that offer families relief and opportunities to create cherished memories.
