For a VIRTUAL workshop with Mitchell’s House as we learn …

“How to Talk with Little Kids about Big Feelings.”

Mitchell’s House is a safe place offering counseling and play therapy services to children with serious illnesses, their parents and siblings.

A Kid Again Central Carolinas, in partnership with our friends at Mitchell’s House, is excited to announce an upcoming virtual education opportunity for A Kid Again parents. Join us via Zoom on Thursday, November 10 at 7:00PM as we learn, “How to Talk with Little Kids about Big Feelings”.

This virtual education event will discuss how to help young children develop a feelings vocabulary, express feelings in a healthy way, and create coping skills. Specific tools will be shared with parents and caregivers to encourage conversations about feelings and coping skill development at home. The topic, tools and skills discussed will be appropriate and applicable for parents of medically complex children as well as non-complex children.

The presentation will be led by Ellen S. Hefner, MA LCMHCA, NCC. Ellen S. Hefner is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the State of North Carolina and is a National Certified Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors. Ellen has extensive play therapy and pediatric counseling experience with a specialization in grief and loss.

 

Cost: FREE, thanks to our partners at Mitchell’s House.
