How A Kid Again Has Made a Difference for Ashton’s Family During Their Cancer Journey
For Ashton and her family, A Kid Again has been a source of light and joy amidst the challenges of childhood cancer. Diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer called Medulloblastoma, Ashton’s world—and her family’s—was turned upside down.
At just eight-years-old, she’s endured two brain surgeries, developed Posterior Fossa Syndrome, and undergone fertility preservation treatments. While her journey has been filled with medical struggles, it’s also been marked by strength, positivity and moments of happiness.
Amid Ashton’s treatments and the family’s efforts to keep her healthy, A Kid Again has provided much-needed moments of normalcy and fun. “A Kid Again has helped us build so many fun memories,” said Amanda, Ashton’s mom. “Being able to participate in these Adventures has given us opportunities to make memories we wouldn’t have been able to otherwise.”
With five daughters—Sage (9), Ashton (8), Sloane (6), Eden (5), and Koa (2)—the chance to experience something new and exciting has been a gift. A Kid Again Adventures are designed to engage children and adults, and for Ashton’s family, these moments are more than just fun—they’re a break from the weight of their everyday reality.
“A Kid Again has allowed us to do fun activities in a time where we haven’t been able to do very much because we need to keep Ashton healthy.”
