Development Specialist

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for corporate fundraising and donor stewardship for the Michigan chapter. This role is designed to focus primarily on increasing fundraising, managing third party fundraisers, peer to peer, fundraising event management and donor stewardship for the chapter.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. CORPORATE FUNDRAISING. Work with the Executive Director and Philanthropy Committee to increase corporate giving across the Michigan Chapter. Includes increasing and maintaining annual sponsorships, fundraising event management, employee giving, grant writing, peer to peer fundraising and working with program coordinator to increase corporate volunteer engagement. 70% of time.

 

  1. THIRD-PARTY FUNDRAISING. Work with the Executive Director and Philanthropy Committee to identify new opportunities for revenue growth. Specifically: Esports, Streaming Events, DIY fundraising, Be A Kid Again Day. 10% of time.

 

  1. YOUTH FUNDRAISING. Identify and manage relationships with local schools as potential fundraising support. This includes visits with schools, coordinating fundraising opportunities with administrators and teachers, and developing tracking for follow-up and This would also include working with colleges/universities to establish A Kid Again clubs and encouraging them to do fundraising. 10% of time.

 

  1. DONOR STEWARDSHIP AND RETENTION. Responsible for creating and managing donor consistent donor stewardship and communications. Will also include donor entry/management utilizing donation platforms. 10% of time.

 

  1. OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree with 2-4 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and event planning. Must also have successful career experiences in relationships management, communications, planning and time management.
