Development Specialist



This position supports all fundraising efforts for the SWO Chapter of A Kid Again.  The individual leads logistical support for SWO Chapter fundraising events and assists in donor stewardship.


  1. FUNDRAISING EVENT SUPPORT. Working with the Executive Director to plan budgets, assist with auction item acquisition, coordinate catering, audio-visual and communications, and support day-of execution. Some travel will be necessary.


  1. SUPPORT THIRD-PARTY FUNDRAISERS/EVENTS. Work with outside groups to support their fundraising efforts where A Kid Again is the beneficiary. This includes providing resources, regular communication and recognition.


  1. DONOR STEWARDSHIP. Work with the Executive Director to ensure proper notes are maintained on donor profiles and that stewardship plans are followed.


  1. EXPANSION OF OUTREACH ACROSS SW OHIO. This includes working collaboratively with the Outreach Committee to explore opportunities to enroll more families throughout SW Ohio, identify community engagement partnerships, and make connections that will help grow the chapter. This would also include working with colleges/universities to establish A Kid Again clubs and encouraging them to do fundraising.


  1. MANAGE E-NEWSLETTER AND SOCIAL MEDIA. Collaborate with Executive Director and Program Coordinator to send out monthly e-newsletter and manage Chapter Facebook page. This will include participating in calls with the national marketing team.


  1. MANAGEMENT OF SOME ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES: This includes check deposits, some gift and in-kind entry/management, and donor stewardship.



Bachelor’s Degree with 2-3 years of experience in nonprofit administration and/or fundraising necessary. Must also have successful career experiences in relationships management, communications, planning and time management.  Experience in Blackbaud products and donation platforms preferred.
